Driver Job Description
Job Overview: We are looking for skilled drivers to transport vulnerable community members—including children, the elderly, disabled individuals, and wheelchair users—to various daily activities or destinations safely. The role suits those with driving experience and a caring nature, particularly those who have worked in care environments.
Responsibilities:
- Transport passengers using wheelchair accessible vehicles.
- Conduct regular pickups and drop-offs, including school runs, medical appointments, and activity centers.
- Assist with moderate lifting tasks, such as pushing wheelchairs into the vehicle.
- Perform scheduled journeys diligently and manage time effectively.
- Communicate clearly with passengers and team members, listening to their needs.
- Maintain vehicles in good working condition, including regular cleaning.
- Keep transportation logbooks and incident reports up to date.
Skills Required:
- Experience in taxi driving, private hire, or commercial driving.
- Knowledge of driving wheelchair accessible vehicles.
- Manual handling and lifting skills.
- Strong communication skills to interact with colleagues and passengers.
- Experience in vehicle maintenance and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Ability to pass an enhanced DBS check.
- Willingness to complete Safeguarding Training.
- Eligibility to obtain a Driver Private Hire Licence.
- Clean Full UK Driving license with at least 2 years of experience.
- Good health, verified by a medical report.

Salary: From £24,480 per year (pro-rata)
